Projects
MyFootballClub
MyFootballClub is a society allowing football fans to own and run the football club Ebbsfleet United. It provides members with functionality from basic social networking features to specific tools to pick the team used in football games, giving them the capabilities to make the key decisions for the club.
I have been involved in the development of the site from fairly early on, improving existing functionality and adding new features, including:
- Team selector
- Match reports, upcoming matches, and other similar functionality
- Payment solutions
- Code for a redesign of the whole site
Dro.me.uk
Dro.me.uk is my personal website, aimed at showing some of the projects I have worked on.
Syn.dro.me.uk
Syn.dro.me.uk provides useful tools for developers. At the moment, it only has one tool: An XML parser that shows which tags are not properly closed, and displays the XML in a more readable form than it is often produced in. This is particularly useful for HTML, where it can be quite easy to accidentally close tags in the wrong order, which can have massive effects on the final page, and be very hard to find.
BBC News on a map
This prototype was developed using data from backstage.bbc.co.uk, and displays news on a map, based on which area the news is from. It was developed in 2005, and is updated every now and then.
TV Listings
Originally created for a BBC Backstage competition, this prototype uses Backstage data to display TV Listings in a new way - using AJAX to update the listings when you scroll through them. It also has features to show when a programme is repeated, and to display the user's favourite programmes.
Traffic Map
This BBC Backstage prototype displays various travel information, in particular road traffic and train information. It does it using a number of BBC feeds alongside Google Maps, with PHP to parse the feeds, and is fairly old.
Min-Data UK
Min-Data UK is a blogging website I set up while at school, making it one of the oldest websites I made. Built entirely from PHP, it is a fairly well-featured blogging site for its time, but was obviously never going to be able to keep up with commercial alternatives. It is no longer being actively updated.
